Fitness Paddle Touring
Lowcountry meetups for paddlers who want more than a casual float.
Weekly 90-min group paddles - intentional, energizing sessions that blend touring, technique, strength and cardio fitness.

What is a Fitness Touring Paddle?
Fitness paddling with Stand and Paddle combines the exploration of SUP touring with cardiovascular fitness, paddle-specific strength, and technique work. These sessions are for those who want to move with purpose — building endurance, refining skills, and getting stronger on (and off) the board.
What to Expect:
• Paddling for 60–90 minutes at a steady, fitness-focused pace
• Higher intensity intervals and technique drills
• Course paddling or set distance touring
• Efficiency-focused stroke practice
• Paddling standing up for the majority of the session
• Group camaraderie and accountability
• A commitment to moving, not lounging
• Rain or shine (unless thunder/lightning)
If you’re looking for a casual float, this isn’t the right fit.
Who They're For:
Prerequisites
To keep the group aligned in pace and safety, paddlers must:
• Have completed at least one SUP lesson (and be able to demonstrate basic technique)
• Be able to paddle standing up for 1 hour at a steady, consistent pace
• Bring a leash and PFD (required)
• Use of a touring or race board is highly stressed (12’6”+)
When & Where:
Start time is on the water time — arrive early if you need to prep, pump, or unload. Late arrivals are responsible for catching up.

Why Join:
• Train smarter and paddle stronger
• Build consistency and confidence
• Be part of a community that encourages effort, not perfection
• Get outside, get fit, and feel empowered
