Boards & Rentals in Nosara

This is one of the most common questions I get at Stand and Paddle —

“Do you rent boards?”

“I just want to rent a SUP and go out on my own.”

“Do you have good boards for rent? Most places only have old or rec boards.”

So here’s how I handle boards and rentals at Stand and Paddle:

I'm Not a Rental Business -

here's why..

Stand and Paddle isn’t built around a rental model. My focus is on coaching, lessons, retreats, and guided SUP & paddle surf experiences.

Unlike surfboards, SUPs are larger, heavier, and more expensive, and they require more equipment — a paddle, leash, and PFD — to get you safely on the water. The cost, care, and logistics of high-quality SUPs make casual or short-term rentals difficult, especially in Costa Rica where shipping, import taxes, and storage challenges all add up.

The Boards I Do Have

I keep a small, high-quality quiver of boards in Nosara — including race, surf, and recreational styles.

These boards are used for:

• Coaching and training sessions

• Private or group lessons

• Guided SUP and paddle surf trips

• Retreats and camps

When you book one of these experiences, your board and gear are included. I take care of transportation, setup, and storage — you just show up ready to paddle.

This allows me to keep my operation small, personal, and intentional — not large-scale or rental-based.

If You Want To Bring Your Own Board

Many paddlers prefer to travel with their own board — and I fully support that! If that’s you, I’m happy to help you plan how to travel with your SUP, and we can use your personal board during sessions or trips.

When I work with larger groups, I can occasionally arrange additional boards through my local network when needed.
