SUP Training Camp
January 21-24, 2025

A week of paddling, training, learning and connecting the week leading up to Costa Rica SUP Race Circuit on January 25, 2025.

For to beginner to elite paddlers that want to gain, master and advance their stroke and skills on the water, learn from experienced coaches and athletes, train amongst and connect with other paddlers in the community.

All levels from new to elite stand up paddlers

No prior experience necessary

Why:

Those who want to learn, improve or master stand up paddling

Train, familiarize and build confidence in local waters

Connect with other paddlers

Off-season (winter) training in warm waters

Learn, advance and master SUP stroke, skills and drills

You’re curious about stand up paddle boarding

You’re new to SUP racing

You’ve raced before and want to further progress

Learn skills and techniques that will help you on race day

Sample Day

5:30 am intentions, Pre-surf coffee, hydrate

6 am morning sup session

10 am brunch

11 am personal time - relax, nap, socialize

1 pm land-drills, training, mobility, breathework, wellness/nutrition talk

4 pm sunset sup session

5:30 sunset and dinner

7 pm evening recap and downtime activity

Includes:

A week of paddling, training, learning and connecting 

Coaching with elite SUP coaches and athletes

Train and prepare for ICF SUP Worlds in Sarasota, Florida 

Race strategy and course overview; paddle in the same local waters and conditions you will race in

Clinic and workshop style coaching both on and off the water 

Hone in on your SUP technique, paddle stroke and drills

Training for distance, sprint, and technical racing

Race specific skill practice including starts, technical skills, turns, drafting, etc

Video analysis of your paddle stroke and skills 

1-1 session with one of our coaches

Nutrition, nourishment, cooking session

On-land training 

Recovery practices, optional

Connect with other like-minded paddlers

SUP stroke drills

Technical skills, footwork and turns

Training and recovery practices on land

Morning and Afternoon SUP sessions on and off water - paddle stroke, technique and drills

Wednesday

Morning SUP session - sprinting, starts

Wellness, mindset, breathwork, and lifestyle clinic

Afternoon SUP session - technical, beach, turns

Evening community dinner gathering

Thursday

Morning SUP session - race day strategy, race courses and practice

Recovery clinic

Afternoon SUP session - drafting, adjusting paddling in different conditions

Optional - 1-1 coaching with suggested paddle training, workouts, nutrition practices

Payments and Plans:

What type of board do I need?

Highly Recommended but not required: Race boards. At least 12.6’, if not 14' race SUP.

 

How can I get a board?

Highly recommend bringing your own board if you own one. Limited quantity of race boards are available to rent and must be reserved ahead of time when registering. 

 

What do I get with a 1-1 Session?

Coaching on the water or off. Individualized.

 

What if I can’t make it the entire week? 

This camp is offered as a full package only.

 

Cancellations:

Camp registration fees are refundable, minus initial deposit and service fees, up to 30 days prior to the event (deadline December 21st, 2024). 

After that, 50% of your camp fees, minus service fees, are refundable up to 14 days prior to event. 

Registration fees are non-refundable less than 14 days. 

All service fees are non-refundable. 

In the case of the camp being cancelled on my behalf, a full refund, minus service fees, will be issued.
