This is the GPS unit that I currently use to track my distance paddles and my daily sprint interval paddle training sessions. - the Etrex 10 by Garmin. I highly recommend it, as it is one of the cheapest on the market, yet one of the few that tracks the Russian Glonass Satellite system as well as the US system, and is WAAS-enabled, so it is very accurate. Of course you can use the My Garmin on-line software to check out your paddles, but I prefer to just download the file directly into Google Earth - it works great.
UPDATE: June 2014 - I am so happy with this unit that I now have 2 of these for averaging together for super accurate testing of techniques, and equipment. More info about that coming soon....
We currently paddle with HovieSUP, King's PaddleSports, Dean Watersports, Liquid Shredder, & Surftech Laird Hamilton boards and ZRE, Riviera Paddlesurf, & Windswept SUP paddles... but we have tested and/or used many other boards & paddles.

I get lots of questions about what camera I use to take all of the photos that I post on Facebook. Well, this is it, the Olympus TG-2. Waterproof tough camera that takes great photos, is very rugged, and most important, is easy and fast to use while trying to take action shots while standing on a moving paddle board! I have used many cameras on my paddling adventures over the last few years, and this is by far my favorite.
UPDATE: June, 2014: Sony DSC-TX30
I am now using both of the camera's above. I feel that the Olympus is the better, higher quality camera of the two, but the Sony is excellent and much more convenient to carry & use out paddling on the SUP board. It is also much easier to keep the lens clean of salt water spots on the Sony, than on the Olympus. Picture quality is roughly equal, but the Oylmpus is unbelievably fast! So if you need to take lots of quick shots and lots of multiple action shots, the Oylmpus TG is definitely superior.
The Quick Fin Release is the best fin screw system I have used or seen by far. It is so fast and easy to get your fins on and off your boards. Or adjust the position of your SUP fin within the fin box. No more aggravation and wasted time spent trying to line up the square bolt in the fin box, or fishing out the nut that fell off the bolt. No more having to keep a key or screw driver with you to be able to change the fin. Once you install this on your fin, it is a (semi) permanent part of your fin and taking the fin on and off, or adjusting the placement of the fin in the box is super fast and easy.
Stearn's Sospenders is the smallest, lightest, least obtrusive U.S. Coast Guard approved PFD that I have found. As many states, jurisdictions, and SUP race directors require wearing a PFD, this is a must have. It is considerably smaller and less obtrusive than any of the other options I have seen or tried.
